UW did not select contractor development team today

They narrowed it to two teams and are asking for a rebid with construction to start December of......2011.

Agreed.

Let's take the time and get it right. Heck, a great season and we pack Husky Stadium, showing them they need to keep capacity and possibly increase. - it's only been since 2005 that they've been talking about it and since 1995 that they need to do it. I love the way they are taking their time and remodeling the stadium the right way. Heck a great season and we may REDUCE capacity even more to make the ticket even HOTTER!!!!111!!

Seattle is, and has always been, a very neighborhood-centric city. Those folks have a tremendous amount of pull in city government. The tailgating in the area has turned into a real mess as the level of individual associated with Husky football has deteriorated into your average flunky Kent resident who wants a good party the day before Seahawk Sunday.

So one can assume they are one of the 2, the other being Wright Runstad the insider company that had a seat on the Stadium Committee and undoubtedly is working the backchannels.

I might speculate that winona's company was good to go but Wright Runstad wanted the project and is fucking it up trying to steal it way, but has to throw up some barriers and other bullshit to justify that they are going to charge more.

Or.

Woodward doesn't know what the fuck he is doing and just trying to delay until everyone forgets it was ever brought up or the stadium just falls down one day, whichever happens first.

Could be some combination of the two.
